BALBOA vs DIXON to TYSON vs PAUL

On November 15, 2024, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas took place one of the most anticipated and biggest boxing bouts between former undisputed heavyweight world champion MIKE TYSON and YouTuber-turned-professional boxer JAKE PAUL. The match was streamed live globally on NETFLIX and I remember watching the match and Netflix was constantly crashing. It showed that this match was no ordinary match and almost the whole world`s eyes were on screen.

I am a fan of IRON MIKE and I grew up watching his fights.

I am also a fan of Sylvester Stallone and I can`t hold back but to talk about this here. The Paul-Tyson match reminded me of the movie ROCKY BALBOA, which is the sixth instalment in the ROCKY franchise. The movie was released in the United States on December 20, 2006. The movie is about Rocky Balboa coming out of retirement to respond to the challenge of reigning champion Mason Dixon and how the odds are against Rocky as his opponent is stronger and 30 years younger than him.

Apparently, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson also had a 30 year age difference.

And, in both movie and reality, the youngster emerges victorious and not by knockout, but by unanimous decision after all the rounds.

In the movie, Rocky walks out with his head held high, with background score and cheers and all theatrical drama of the movie of course.

In real life, Tyson walks out with his head held high too, of course he should. He will always be the undisputed legend of boxing and though he had nothing to prove, he still showed the world that he cannot be knocked down... not in real life, not in the ring, not at any age either.
